In my paintings, I try to capture lines, shapes and forms that reveal an elegant nature. I am searching for contrast in the light and dark objects that present themselves as arches, windows and reflections. Whatever the location of my image, I am trying to engage the viewer and hoping to evoke an emotional response. In layered window reflections, is there only someone looking in or is there another person looking out through the glass but obscured by the reflection of the street outside?
I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Art Education from Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey and a Masters in Education in Integrated Teaching through the Arts from Lesley University. In the past sixteen years, I have been able to tackle aesthetic problems each day in my job working as a middle school art teacher. This fall I made the exciting transition from painter to photographer and I look forward to new artistic challenges.
