Quinn Munoz

Quinn Munoz is a Tacoma native who began blowing glass at the Hilltop Artists in Residence Program. Through the Program, Quinn learned to manipulate glass as a material for creating artwork. In further pursuit of knowledge in glass, Quinn received his Bachelor in Fine Arts from the Rhode Island School of Design. He is a carpenter and artist currently residing in the Northwest.

These Sea Foam pieces are part of a series begun at Pilchuck Glass Studio in the summer of 2004. The inspiration for these pieces comes from WWII-era sea mines that occasionally break free of their moorings and float into the open ocean. The pieces are blown glass, with aa cold patina surface treatment and a fabricated steel stand.
